Our Mission of NW Fire Velo is Firefighters winning the hearts of Americans through cycling for veterans and first responders, honoring those who sacrifice for our freedom and safety.
Who is NorthWest Fire Velo
Northwest Fire Velo is a nonprofit organization of Northwest United State professional and retired IAFF firefighters. As a fire department-based cycling organization, NW Fire Velo shall support severely wounded veterans & first responders, cancer awareness, provide firefighter wellness and to promote fund raising for other nonprofit organizations and specific causes.
Latest Ride
In late summer of 2019 NW Fire Velo team traveled from Seattle to Colorado Springs, arriving September 21st honoring our fallen firefighters at the annual International Association of Fire Fighters, Fallen Firefighter Memorial. The 20-day cycling event starting August 29th, covered over 1,600 miles, climbed over 70,000 feet and visits to fire departments in five different states. NW Fire Velo’s efforts benefited the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. (Restoring Independence Supporting Empowerment) program. The Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. program was developed to build specially adapted smart homes, vehicles, and mobility devices for these brave defenders.
